Online ticket sales start for Hockey World League Final

Raipur: Hockey India (HI) on Thursday announced the start of the online ticket sales for the much awaited eight-nation Hero Hockey World League (HWL) Final to be held here from November 27 to December 6.

The tickets can be booked online at www.ticketgenie.in. The tickets are priced at Rs.50 and Rs.100 for the general stands, while the tickets for the VIP Stand at the newly built The International Hockey Stadium are priced at Rs.1000.

“I am proud to announce the kickstart of the online ticket sales of the much awaited Hero Hockey World League Final to be held in Raipur,” HI secretary general Mohd Mushtaque Ahmad said in a statement.

“We are confident of a positive response from the hockey fans in the city and I am sure the spectators will have a great time watching their favourite players live in front of them.”

With the tournament divided into two pools, 2014 Asian Games champions India are placed in Pool B along with the Netherlands, Germany and Argentina. The hosts will play their first match against 2014 World Cup runners-up Argentina.

Sunil Gavaskar gives his opinion of GT allrounder Rahul Tewatia

The left-handed batsman from Haryana is garnering praise from all quarters for the way he’s finishing games regularly in the most exciting IPL season.

Gavaskar reckons Tewatia’s whirlwind knock in Sharjah (in IPL 2020) where he smashed West Indies pacer Sheldon Cottrell for five sixes in an over, gave him the confidence that he belongs to the big stage.

Speaking on Cricket Live on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “That assault on Sheldon Cottrell in Sharjah gave him the belief to do the impossible and the confidence that he belongs here. We saw the impossible (he did with the bat) the other day as well. There’s no twitching or touching the pads (which shows a batter’s nervousness) when he bats in the death overs. He just waits for the ball to be delivered and plays his shots. He’s got all the shots in the book, but most importantly his temperament to stay cool in a crisis is brilliant.”

Gavaskar has also nicknamed the 28-year-old cricketer the ‘ice-man’ and lauded Tewatia’s ability to remain unruffled during the tense moments.
