Now after currency demonetisation, RBI gives order to stop coins production:

The reason behind stopping of coins production was given by the RBI officials that after currency demonetisation the production of coins has been increased this much that the coin have still being lying in apex banks’ store till yet.

If we go with the notice of the RBI than there is a storage of 2500 MPCS coins till January 8th and this is the reason that why the production of coins has been stopped till the next order of apex bank.

Let us remind you that that the Narendra Modi government had enforced the note ban on entire country on November 8th, 2016. After which the Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared old currency notes of Rs 500 and 1000 as not a legal tender from mid night on that day.
