LMRC honoured with internation quality summit award in New York

Lucknow: Lucknow Metro – the dream project of Shri Akhilesh Yadav, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the people of Lucknow – has now been recognised internationally for speed and quality in deliverance and has been awarded with the ”International Quality Summit (IQS) Award 2016” for quality, innovation and excellence in Metro project execution. 

On behalf of Lucknow Metro, the award was received yesterday by Shri Daljeet Singh, Director (Works & Infrastructure), in a ceremonial function organised in New York, United States of America (USA). LMRC has been honoured with the ”International Quality Summit (IQS) Award 2016” under Gold Category by Business Initiative Directions (BID) Group One – an international organization involved in promoting quality culture, innovation and excellence – headquartered in Madrid, Spain.

Selection of Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation for this prestigious award was conveyed through a letter from President and CEO, BID Group One to LMRC last month. This is one of the most prestigious awards that has been bestowed to Lucknow Metro recently. In the past this award has been conferred to big public and private international companies including companies like the Indian Oil Corporation (IOL), Reliance Industries and Energy and other reputed international organisations.

The award criteria is based on seven tenets which contribute to success and quality practices comprising excellence, innovation, customer satisfaction, technology,  leadership, strategic planning and business results. The award carries a logo, the trophy and the International Quality Summit Certificate.

On the achievement, Shri Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, said “international recognitions in form of such a prestigious award are very encouraging for the organisation and the whole team”. This is indeed a very proud moment for all of us and the people of Lucknow. We are determined to provide a world class modern state-of-the-art Metro to the city,” he added.

This prestigious award is given by International Quality Summit Award Selection Committee comprising of very experienced professionals from the business world specialized in quality, excellence and customer services who select companies / organizations working internationally demonstrating practices of quality and excellence in their delivery.

The award has been conferred on LMRC in the august presence of world reputed companies from 72 countries together with the leaders from different business fields, official from the world of economics, arts, corporate image, quality experts and the academic personalities.

What monkey fled with a bag containing evidence in it: Read full story

The court, generally, considers a person who commit a crime and the one who destroys the evidence, as criminals in the eyes of law. But what if an animal destroys the evidence of a crime committed by a human.

In a peculiar incident in Rajasthan, a monkey fled away with the evidence collected by the police in a murder case. The stolen evidence included the murder weapon (a blood-stained knife).

The incident came to light when the police appeared before the court and they had to provide the evidence in the hearing.

The hearing was about the crime which took place in September 2016, in which a person named Shashikant Sharma died at a primary health center under Chandwaji police station. After the body was found, the deceased’s relatives blocked the Jaipur-Delhi highway, demanding an inquiry into the matter.

Following the investigation, the police had arrested Rahul Kandera and Mohanlal Kandera, residents of Chandwaji in relation to the murder. But, when the time came to produce the evidence related to the case, it was found that the police had no evidence with them because a monkey had stolen it from them.

In the court, the police said that the knife, which was the primary evidence, was also taken by the monkey. The cops informed that the evidence of the case was kept in a bag, which was being taken to the court.

The evidence bag contained the knife and 15 other important evidences. However, due to the lack of space in the malkhana, a bag full of evidence was kept under a tree, which led to the incident.
