Mercedes-Benz launches new C-Class at Rs.40.90 lakh

New Delhi: German luxury automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz Tuesday launched the new generation version of its C-Class in India priced at Rs.40.90 lakh (ex-Showroom Delhi).

“The new C-Class sets a new benchmark with its technological and design advancement. The technological prowess of the new C-Class is a prime example of how the latest generation telematics and IT systems are well integrated in Mercedes-Benz cars,” said Eberhard Kern, managing director and chief executive, Mercedes-Benz India.

The company said that 2014 has been immensely satisfying year for it with several new product launches, network expansion, complimented by a double digit growth.

The vehicle is powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with direct injection, which is one of the most fuel efficient giving a return of 14.74 km per litre.

The two-litre petrol engine produces 135 kW at 5,500 rpm with a maximum torque of 300 Nm between 1,200-1,400 rpm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 235 kmph.

The powerful engine is coupled with a seven-speed automatic transmission which combines a high level of efficiency.

The new variant boasts of a long wheelbase and good ground clearances as well as cruise control and new reworked aerodynamic features. In comparison to its predecessor, the vehicle is referred as ‘Longer, wider and lighter.’

The vehicle has been one of the most successful brand offering of the company since its establishment in India. Currently 20,000 C-Class are on Indian roads.

The company offers various products which are either locally produced, assembled or imported as fully built units.

Its product offering ranges from the S-Class, E-Class, C-Class, GL-Class and the M-Class. Completely built imported cars include the A-Class, CLS-Class, SLK-Class and the luxury tourer B-Class.

The product portfolio also comprises of G 63 AMG, as well as a wide range of other AMG performance cars like the CLA 45 AMG, C 63 AMG, E 63 AMG, SLK 55 AMG, GL 63 AMG, ML 63 AMG and GLA 45 AMG.

The AMG brand of the company provides high-performance driven automobiles which are inspired from motor racing and use design snip-offs from the company’s expertise in motorsports and engine development.

Hyundai India launched the much-awaited Creta Knight Edition in the country at a starting price of Rs 13.51 lakh (ex-showroom, all-India). In addition to this, the company has also introduced a model-year update for the Hyundai Creta with new feature additions.

The 2022 Hyundai Creta is now available in a new Denim Blue colour option and the Highline TPMS is now standard across all variants. The SX (O) trim now also gets a glossy black centre console. Furthermore, the company will offer the iMT option on the 1.5-litre petrol ‘S’ variant to further expand choices for the customers. The new S+ variant powered by a 1.4-litre T-GDi petrol engine with 7DCT now gets an additional set of features, such as –

Mechanically, the SUV continues to be powered by the existing petrol and diesel engine options.
