Maruti Suzuki launches premium cross-over vehicle S-CROSS

New Delhi: Automobile major Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday launched its first premium cross-over “S-CROSS” vehicle priced between Rs.8.34 lakh and Rs.13.74 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

“There is a segment of customers in India who want power and performance in their vehicle, but also the comfort and refinement of a sedan,” said Kenichi Ayukawa, managing director and chief executive, Maruti Suzuki.

“Powered by DDiS 200 and DDiS 320, S-CROSS will delight customers with its massive torque, power and handling.”

The new cross-over vehicle is offered in two diesel engine options: variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) DDiS 200 and DDiS 320.

According to the company, the two engine options give optimal forced induction by controlling the flow of exhaust gases in accordance with the engine speed, thereby helping to release high torque and low fuel consumption.

The DDiS 200 generates optimum power of 66 kW at the rate of 4,000 rotations per minute (rpm). It gives a fuel mileage of 23.65 km per litre.

The DDiS 320 produces 88 kW power at the rate of 3,750 rpm. It has fuel efficiency of 22.70 km per litre.

The new cross-over comes with a high performance suspension fitted-in the hi-tensile steel body. The vehicle also boasts of all-wheel disc brakes with ABS (anti-breaking system), front seat pre-tension and force limiter.

Dual air bags are standard across all variants.

The company and its suppliers have invested over Rs.600 crore in developing this model.

Hyundai India launched the much-awaited Creta Knight Edition in the country at a starting price of Rs 13.51 lakh (ex-showroom, all-India). In addition to this, the company has also introduced a model-year update for the Hyundai Creta with new feature additions.

The 2022 Hyundai Creta is now available in a new Denim Blue colour option and the Highline TPMS is now standard across all variants. The SX (O) trim now also gets a glossy black centre console. Furthermore, the company will offer the iMT option on the 1.5-litre petrol ‘S’ variant to further expand choices for the customers. The new S+ variant powered by a 1.4-litre T-GDi petrol engine with 7DCT now gets an additional set of features, such as –

– 16-inch black alloy wheels

– Smartphone wireless charger

– Rear Disc Brakes

– Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

– Vehicle Stability Management (VSM)

– Hill start assist control (HAC)

– Paddle shifters

– Metal pedals

– Electric and auto-folding ORVMs

– Power window auto up/down

Mechanically, the SUV continues to be powered by the existing petrol and diesel engine options.
