A news outlet has learnt from sources within Maruti Suzuki that the company’s next major launch for India will be the Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift. The Baleno received a mild update in 2019 but the upcoming version will see significant changes as part of a mid-cycle refresh.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift exterior

Earlier photos show that the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift has ditched the earlier car’s simple design for a more aggressive face. The grille has been slimmed and widened with a new honeycomb pattern, and extends in a Y-shape right up to the headlamps. The headlamps themselves have been reprofiled to a slimmer Upward swept look and feature LED lighting in a two-pot arrangement. Also noticeably, the bonnet has been reworked by being pushed back and widened while new body lines have been added here too. The segmented air dam of the earlier can has now been replaced by a wider, fuller one in the reshaped bumpers as well.2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno new gille headlamp

The rear of the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Baleno also sees the LED taillamps cluster being given an L-shaped profile with the extensions into the boot lid. The boot lid itself seems unchanged, although a shark-fin antenna has now been added. The rear bumper seems to have been marginally reworked to fit the new reflector placement.  The side profile revealed in these images show a new design for the alloy wheels, which have seemingly grown in size as well, while contrasting black outer mirrors have been added too.
