Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch three foldable phones with different designs next year.

According to Display analyst Ross Young, the brand is expected to unveil foldable phones with designs such as out-folding, an in-folding, and a clamshell, reports GizmoChina.

Young added that the out-folding foldable phone from Xiaomi will be like the Huawei Mate X. Three is a possibility that the out-folding device may feature a display of around 8 inches.

Display analyst Ross Young had claimed earlier this month that companies like OPPO, Vivo, and Xiaomi will together launch four foldable phones in 2021. He had also claimed that Google will also launch a foldable phone in the coming year.

Recently, Xiaomi filed a patent for a foldable smartphone with a quad-camera system that rotates forward for selfies and back for regular photos.

The smartphone maker filed the design patent for an inward bending phone in China and has also put 48 images to showcase the handset.

OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8 are selling with discounts as part of the Amazon Fab Phones sale. Both the smartphones are now selling with discounts up to Rs 7000 on the e-commerce website. The offer prices will be applicable till February 25. The OnePlus 8 Pro was launched in the first half of 2020 while the OnePlus 8T arrive later. Both the smartphones are powered by Qualcomm’s high-end Snapdragon 865 SoC and boast of several flagship-level features.

As part of the sale, OnePlus T (8GB + 128GB) will be available for as low as Rs 36,999, down from its original price of Rs 42,999, while the OnePlus 8 Pro (8GB + 128GB) will be selling at just Rs 47,999 instead of Rs 54,999. However, the customers need to know that this is not a direct price cut and the deal can availed through a combination of coupon and bank offers.

Amazon is providing a coupon for both the OnePlus smartphones. This coupon doesn’t need a code. It reflects below the smartphone listing and can be applied by anyone. The OnePlus 8 Pro Amazon page will have ‘Apply Rs 4,000 coupon’ below the price, while the OnePlus 8T will have ‘Apply Rs 3,000 coupon’. As soon as you apply the coupon, a change in price will be reflected. Additionally, the customers can get a discount of Rs 3,000 if the purchase is made using SBI credit or debit cards. This brings down the total cost by up to Rs 7,000.

The coupon and bank offers are available with the 12GB RAM variants of the OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8 Pro models as well. The OnePlus 8T 12GB RAM option will be available at Rs 39,999 and the OnePlus 8 Pro 12GB RAM variant can be bought for Rs 52,999.

Should you buy OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8 Pro?

The OnePlus 8T is an excellent deal at that price. Launched only few months back, the smartphone borrows all the major features from a more expensive OnePlus 8 Pro. The smartphone features a 6.55-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels at a pixel density of 402ppi. The AMOLED display is absolutely gorgeous and comes with high refresh rate. The Snapdragon 865 chipset is more than capable for gaming even after one year it first arrived.

The OnePlus 8T on the rear packs a 48-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.7 aperture; a second 16-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture; a third 5-megapixel camera and a fourth 2-megapixel camera. It sports a 16-megapixel camera on the front for selfies, with an f/2.4 aperture. The camera module on either side manages to do a great job. The overall value attached with this phone makes it an excellent buy for the price.

The OnePlus 8 Pro is the best OnePlus has to offer in India right now. It boasts of top-of-the-line features including a big 6.78-inch QHD+ (1440×3168-pixel) AMOLED panel, with a claimed high colour accuracy and HDR10+ support. The smartphone is equipped with 120Hz refresh rate and also comes with support for wireless charging.

The only thing you possibly need to consider is that we are very close to the launch of OnePlus 9 series. There is a chance that the new smartphone might come with better features for similar price. Even if not, the OnePlus 8 Pro might receive a permanent price cut shortly after. In either case, you should wait before spending on the OnePlus 8 Pro, if possible.
