Fake app store steals real money from user

A malware, Ace Deceiver is responsible for fooling some iPhone users in China. The malware is actually a hack that makes you think you’re buying an app on the Apple App Store, but only deducts money from your credit card, obviously without getting you the app.

 

The Daily Star reported that, “Criminals are deploying a technique used for installing pirated iOS apps onto non-jailbroken Apple devices.

 

Security firm Palo Alto Networks recently discovered what it calls a new family of iOS malware that’s capable of infecting non-jailbroken (stock) iPhones.”

 

Using the iTunes to iPhone app transfer option, this software acted as a fake store for app and made money from the transactions that the users made. However, the app seems to have failed to acquire the credential of the users which would have allowed the hackers to gain unlimited access to the iPhone owner’s credit card and accounts.
