Tata Motors launches GenX Nano

Mumbai:India’s automobile major Tata Motors on Tuesday launched the GenX Nano, a new technologically advanced entry level hatchback car with a starting price of Rs.1.99 lakh.

Mayank Pareek, company president for passenger vehicles, said Nano has put India on the world motoring map by demonstrating innovation and frugal engineering.

“It continues to remain an important brand in our passenger vehicle portfolio and we have been constantly evolving the product.”

The company plans to sell the car across 450 outlets throughout India. It said the compact car is aimed at the “trendy, youthful, bold and stylish customer”.

The GenX Nano comes with a starting ex-showroom Delhi price of Rs.1.99 lakh for the base model, while three other models are priced at Rs.2.49 lakh, Rs.2.69 lakh and Rs.2.89 lakh.

Parekh said the new car is smart, stylish, efficient and a practical city car which has strong potential in the compact hatch segment.

“After Zest and Bolt, the GenX Nano is our third offering under Horizonext and we continue to reach out to our customers with feature-rich products that offer best-in-class technology and design engineering,” he said.

The company said it conceived the idea of the GenX Nano around two years ago, as a result of constant feedback from existing and potential consumers.

Hyundai India launched the much-awaited Creta Knight Edition in the country at a starting price of Rs 13.51 lakh (ex-showroom, all-India). This new variant is available in both petrol and diesel engine options and can be had either with a manual or an automatic transmission unit. To read more about the Creta Knight Edition, click here. In addition to this, the company has also introduced a model-year update for the Hyundai Creta with new feature additions.

The 2022 Hyundai Creta is now available in a new Denim Blue colour option and the Highline TPMS is now standard across all variants. The SX (O) trim now also gets a glossy black centre console. Furthermore, the company will offer the iMT option on the 1.5-litre petrol ‘S’ variant to further expand choices for the customers. The new S+ variant powered by a 1.4-litre T-GDi petrol engine with 7DCT now gets an additional set of features, such as –

– Smart panoramic sunroof

– 16-inch black alloy wheels

– Smartphone wireless charger

– Rear Disc Brakes

– Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

– Vehicle Stability Management (VSM)

– Hill start assist control (HAC)

– Paddle shifters

– Metal pedals

– Electric and auto-folding ORVMs

– Power window auto up/down

Mechanically, the SUV continues to be powered by the existing petrol and diesel engine options.
