New York: A new breed of supercars that are said to have taken speed, power and automotive technology to new levels will be showcased at the 2015 New York International Automobile Show (NYIAS).

The event is scheduled to be held from April 3-12 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan, New York.

This special group of road-going automobiles, including Aston Martin Vulcan, Ford GT, Koenigsegg One, Mclaren 675LT, among others, are sure to capture the imagination of car enthusiasts worldwide as a growing number of automakers are gearing up to give their customers a taste of the racetrack on road.

Some analysts said that the staggering advances in design, engine technology, and the use of the latest high-tech materials have prompted some to think that today’s new breed of supercars should be re-named Megacars.

“The NYIAS is known as one of the premier automotive events in the world. It is the place where style, technology, power, and design come together in one place. Our goal with this year’s poster was to create a unique piece of art that captures the excitement of the automobile industry with the uniquely iconic New York City skyline in an exciting fresh way,” said NYIAS chairman John LaSorsa.

Meanwhile, new cars and trucks will be another highlight at the show. More than 60 new vehicles will be unveiled to the media during the press preview days, which last from Wednesday to Thursday. Whether designed for speed, fun or practicality, each of the new vehicles is well designed, technology-filled and built to last, industry observers say.

According to NYIAS, nearly 1,000 of the latest new cars and trucks will be on display at the show, and more than one million visitors are expected to visit the show to see what is truly possible from the automotive industry.

The NYIAS became North America’s first automotive exhibition in 1900.

Combined with the city’s dynamism, and the fact that metro New York is one of the nation’s largest markets for new car and truck sales, the show has grown into one of the most important automotive events in the world.
