India’s pre-owned luxury car company, Big Boy Toyz, announced the procurement of India’s most expensive pre-owned limited-edition 2019 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. The car is available for sale as one of India’s most expensive sports coupe. This two-seater petrol-based car, manufactured 900 units worldwide, comes with 6498cc, naturally-aspirated, V12, engine coupled with a 7-speed automated manual transmission that puts out 759bhp and 720Nm of peak torque. The Giallo Tenerife colored Aventador SVJ carries a price tag of Rs 6 crore (ex-showroom, India).

Jatin Ahuja, Founder & CEO, Big Boy Toyz said, “We are thrilled to announce the procurement and sale of India’s most expensive car from Big Boy Toyz and are overwhelmed with the response we have received in just two days. People are excited and overjoyed about the limited-edition Lamborghini Aventador SVJ.”

The country has seen a shift in consumer preference in the last couple of years as the demand for luxury super cars. Buyers now prefer riding their sports cars and exploring the Indian roads rather than treating it a piece of luxury to be owned.

Ahuja added, “With cars now being a necessity rather than a luxury, the ‘Super car’ sector seems to have descended into the consumer market swiftly. It is no longer treated as ‘invaluable’ & has found a place on the busy roads of our urbanites. We have received a lot of queries regarding the same and look forward to seeing this car hit the roads soon.”

Maruti Suzuki plans to increase the prices of its vehicles in the July-September quarter as the company has to deal with high input costs. In a regulatory filing, the company said that in the entire last year, the cost of the company’s vehicles continued to be adversely impacted due to the rise in various input costs.

“Hence, it has become imperative for the company to pass on some impact of the above additional cost to customers through a price rise,” it said.

The company further added that the price rise has been planned for the second quarter of this fiscal and the increase shall vary for different models.

It had earlier raised prices for different car models in April. Several vehicle makers have raised prices amid the pandemic as input costs have increased. Further, the decline in sales amid the pandemic has also impacted the industry.

However, with the situation easing across various states, restrictions are likely to ease and automakers would move back to normalizing the operations.
