OnePlus to launch three new models in India today: Prices leaked

Published

on

Ahead of their launch, the India prices of the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro and the OnePlus 9R have been leaked. While it is not clear if these are indeed actual prices or not, they do seem legit as they fall in the range where we expect them to be. The most affordable of the lot is likely to be the OnePlus 9R at a starting price of Rs 39,999 while the most expensive could be the 256GB variant of the OnePlus 9 Pro at Rs 69,999.

While it is clear to see — that is if these prices are accurate — that the OnePlus 9 series phones are debuting at a slightly higher price compared to the OnePlus 8 Pro series last year, the price of even the most expensive variant that is the OnePlus 9 Pro with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM is lower than the likes of the Galaxy S21+ and the iPhone 12.

The price information of the OnePlus 9 series phones comes courtesy a Twitter account — yabhishekhd — and it is possible that these are speculated prices and not actual. However, as we noted earlier, these are extremely probable prices and even if they prove to be wrong later in the evening when OnePlus will officially launch the OnePlus 9, the OnePlus 9 Pro and the OnePlus 9R these will turn out to be fairly close to the official prices.

Here are the leaked prices of the OnePlus 9 series:

— OnePlus 9R 8GB: Rs 39,999

— OnePlus 9R 12GB: 43,999

— OnePlus 9 8GB: 49,999

— OnePlus 9 12GB: 54,999

— OnePlus 9 Pro 8GB: 64,999

— OnePlus 9 Pro 12GB: 69,999

As we have noted on these pages several times in the last few weeks, OnePlus will launch the OnePlus 9 series phones on March 23, which is today, at 7.30pm India time. The phones will go on sale immediately.

As OnePlus has faced tough challenges from the likes of the iPhone 11, the iPhone 12 and the Galaxy S20 series, the company this year is adjusting tactics. It seems that OnePlus has decided to all out on the OnePlus 9 Pro, giving it top notch hardware, even if that means an increase in the prices. This time around OnePlus says that it has even given it all to ensure that the camera experience in the OnePlus 9 Pro matches the expectations users have from a flagship phone. It has tied up with iconic camera brand Hasselblad to fine-tune the camera in the OnePlus 9 Pro and the OnePlus 9.
