Gujrat government decides to re-open schools
Gujarat state government reopens schools in the state for offline classes from today onwards. The classes have reopened for the students from classes 6 to 8. According to the information provided, attendance is not mandatory for the students and the schools will be continuing with the online classes being conducted until now.
Students attending the offline classes in the students are required to submit written consent from their parents. The schools in the state have also been directed to follow the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the state government for conducting offline classes.
Schools reopen considering COVID-19 cases
Gujarat Education Secretary – Vinod Rao earlier stated that the schools have been reopened keeping in mind the long-term interests of the students and the decline in the COVID-19 cases in the state. The secretary further pointed out that the district education officers and primary education officers are required to ensure that the schools follow the standard operating procedures to avoid infections among the students and teachers.
The Gujarat state government has also directed that the students inside the containment zones will not be allowed to reopen. The teachers and students while attending the offline classes in schools are also required to wear face masks and carry hand sanitizers with them.
Schools reopen earlier for higher classes
The state government had earlier reopened the schools for the students from classes 10 and 12 on January 11, 2021, following which the classes reopened for the students from classes 6 to 9. Colleges have also reopened in the state for the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from January 11, 2021.
Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal shared that the construction work of six nursing colleges in the state will be completed soon and classes will commence in the month of July. Not only this, the new building of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Panchkula has also completed its construction work.
Adding on to this, he shared that, till now, the classes are being held in another building, the chief secretary said while presiding over the review meeting of development projects worth more than Rs 100 crore here.
CHIEF SECRETARY REVIEWED MAJOR PROJECTS
The Chief Secretary reviewed several major projects, including power, health, medical, and technical education in the state, and directed the concerned officials to complete them within the stipulated time period.
COLLEGES UNDER CONSTRUCTION
He said that the construction of nursing colleges in Dherdu village of Kaithal, Khedi Ram Nagar village of Kurukshetra, Kheranwali village of Panchkula, Aura and Dayalpur village of Faridabad, and Sadatpur village of Rewari is under construction.
The construction work of Medical college in Koriawas in Narnaul, Medical College at Jind, Bhiwani, and Dental College at Nalhar is being completed at a fast pace. The work of the second phase of Kalpana Chawla Medical College is also undergoing.
