Uttar Pradesh: Next phase start of covid vaccination today in state.

The next phase of covid vaccination will start today in Uttar Pradesh. State government has fixed two days in a week for covid vaccination. Health workers of State will get covid vaccine today and tomorrow and also in the next phase on 4th and 5th February. After that the vaccine will be given to frontline workers in next phase. State government has fixed two days Thursday and Friday in the week for the covid vaccination.

Additional chief secretary information Navneet Sehgal said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given clear instructions to complete the first phase of vaccination timely and according to the guidelines of Central Government. He informed that in last 24 hours only 168 new covid patients have been found and there are currently 6368 active covid patients in the state.

Till date state has conducted 2.74 crore covid tests and more than 15 crore people have been contacted regarding the coronavirus infection. More than 75% of the state population has been contacted by health workers under the unique surveillance campaign.

Covid toll in Karnataka is a worrying sign for state government

Even though Karnataka recorded the lowest number of Covid deaths in April since the virus struck first in 2020, the state is recording a rise in the positivity rate (1.50 per cent). Five people died from the Covid infections in April as per the statistics released by the state health department. In March, the positivity rate stood around 0.53 per cent. In the first week of April it came down to 0.38 per cent, second week registered 0.56 per cent, third week it rose to 0.79 per cent and by end of April the Covid positivity rate touched 1.19 per cent.

The first Covid case was reported in the state in March 2020 and three Covid deaths were recorded in the month.
