Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is a runaway hit in the country, with the first batch of vehicles being sold out within the first two weeks of official introduction in March 2020. Deliveries of the new model were expected to commence in March itself but the ongoing circumstances, and the nationwide lockdown, led to a delay. Now, however, the customers have started to get their vehicles, with the first delivery made in Bangalore on Friday.
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon comes to us via CBU route and costs Rs 68.94 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). While the SUV is available in both three-door and five-door variants, only the latter is available in India owing to its higher practicality quotient.Powering the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that churns out a maximum power of 265 PS and a peak torque of 400 Nm. The motor comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels through the RockTrac 4×4 all-wheel-drive.
The standard Jeep Wrangler is already among the most capable off-roaders around the world. However, the Rubicon takes up all the prowess a notch higher with its full-time torque management system, a 2-speed transfer case with a 4:1 4-low-range gear ratio and electronically controlled sway bars that allow for electronically lockable differentials and wheel articulation. The Wrangler Rubicon even benefits from a low-ratio crawl mode.
On comparing with the regular Jeep Wrangler, the Rubicon variant even offers better ground clearance and optimized ramp over and departure angles. It gets a longer list of features that make it safer and more comfortable for the occupants.Highlights of the features list include Electronic Roll Mitigation, trailer sway control, rear parking camera, park assist, TPMS (Tyre Pressure Management System), 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, keyless entry, automatic climate control, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, etc.
Deliveries Of Jawa Perak To Start From July 20.
Classic Legends has announced that it started the deliveries of the Perak from the 20th of July across the length and breadth of the country.
The Perak is a motorcycle reminiscing the past, yet far ahead of its time. Designed and developed as a factory custom embodying the spirit of ‘Stealth, Vigilante and Dark’, the BSVI compliant machine is a true bobber in spirit and form with ‘bobbed’ fenders, chopped exhaust, and a floating seat.
The bookings for the motorcycle began on January 1, 2020, and now, over half a year later, the deliveries of the motorcycle have commenced. However, the motorcycle that is being delivered is now BS-VI emission norm compliant as that became mandatory from April 1, 2020.
The Jawa Perak is powered by a 334cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 30.64 PS of power and 32.74 Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed transmission. Thanks to the BS-VI update, Jawa has worked on the engine and they have not only made the engine meet a stricter emission norm but have also managed to extract almost 2 Nm of torque more than before.
Other updates on the Jawa Perak include a completely reworked chassis with an all-new swingarm, both which, have had their stiffness levels tuned for more straight-line stability and planted cornering, as claimed by Jawa.
Anupam Thareja, co-founder, Classic Legends said, “When we set out to build the Perak, the goal was simple – to create a motorcycle with the right blend of exclusivity, individuality and performance, with a hint of sinister and dark. Built on the idea of India’s first factory custom, the Perak is just that and now it is out on its prowl.”
The Jawa Perak was launched in India on November 15th 2019 and the bookings for the motorcycle began on January 1, 2020. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 1,94,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
To help bikers give in to temptation more easily, the Jawa Perak is also available with a range of easy finance options.Classic Legends has put in place a comprehensive standard operating procedure across its sales outlets and the dealerships have been adhering to the policies and measures directed by the Central and State governments with respect to the safety of customers, employees, and visitors. The showrooms are functional with teams trained and equipped to follow social distancing, hygiene, and sanitation protocols.
