Deepika Kumari has bagged a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Test Event.

In Archery, India’s top-ranked women archer Deepika Kumari has bagged a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Test Event. Deepika Kumari who was ranked fourth in the qualification round has missed gold medal to Korea’s An San in straight sets. San clinched the gold medal 6-0.

A double gold medallist at the recently-concluded fourth stage of the World Cup in Berlin, San took the first set narrowly when she piped the Indian by one point.

The Indian women’s team are yet to qualify for the next year’s Olympics but Deepika said the exposure will help.

The Korean then won the second set 29-25, before three perfect 10s won her the gold. This was the first individual final in an international tournament since she won a gold medal at the third stage of the world cup in Kolkata in June last year.

PM Modi departs for two-day visit to Bhutan

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on two day visit to Bhutan to discuss relations with India and to strengthen bilateral ties with the Himalayan nation in various fields. This is Modi’s second visit to Bhutan, first since reelection.

Modi will arrive at Paro International Airport on Saturday 17th August and will be there till 19th August. PM Modi will discuss their relations in various fields. According to reports one of the talks will be on accessing of RuPay cards in Bhutan. Before departure it is said that it will talk on partnerships from “Neighborhood Policy’.

PM Modi will meet Prime Minister of Bhutan today at 4 pm in the evening. During the visit, the Prime Minister is expected to receive audiences with Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the King of Bhutan and Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the fourth King of Bhutan nd hold talks with his Bhutanese counterpart Dr Lotay Tshering. The Prime Minister will also address the students of Royal University of Bhutan there.

He would also visit national Museum at Chorten the next day. “The visit is in keeping with the tradition of regular high -level exchanges between the two countries and provides an opportunity to the two sides to discuss ways to further strengthen and diversify the bilateral partnership, including economic and development co-operation, hydropower co-operation, people -to-people-ties as well as share views on regional matters and other issues of National Interest” an MEA statement said.
