NDA-JD-U, LJP shares 17+17+6 formula of seat sharing for alliance in Lok Sabha polls

Patna: The ruling collation of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and Janata Dal-United (JD-U) today announced seat sharing formula in Bihar for upcoming Lok Sabha elections in country.

According to the agreement, the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest 17 seats each while the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) led by Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan will contest from six seats.

The announcement was made here during a press conference at the Janata Dal-United office.

The announcement was made by JD-U state President Vashishtha Narayan Singh, BJP state President Nityanand Rai and LJP state President Pashupati Kumar Paras, during a press conference here.

 

BJP gives-up major seat in Bihar, ready with formula of 17+17+6 for alliance in LS polls:

 

The JD-U will contest from Valmiki Nagar, Sitamarhi, Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Madhepura, Gopalganj, Siwan, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Nalanda, Karakat, Jahanabad and Gaya.

The BJP will contest from Purvi Champaran, Paschim Champaran, Sheohar, Madhuvani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Saran, Ujiarpur, Begusarai, Patna Sahib, Pataliputra, Arrah, Buxar, Sasaram Aurangabad, Arariya, Maharajganj.

The LJP would contest from Vaishali, Hajipur, Samastipur, Khagaria, Jamui and Nawada.

However, the name of candidates for all the 40 Lok Sabha seats will be announced in the next two to three days.

Lucknow: In an unexpected development, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has sacked its panel of leaders who act as its spokespersons on television channels.

In a statement issued here on Friday, party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said: “The appointment of all party panelists has been cancelled on the directives of national President Akhilesh Yadav.”

He further asked the TV channels not to invite any of the panelists for debates.
