Mumbai: Veteran Indian cricket batsman and master blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar delivered ‘Bouncer delivery’ to current skipper of ‘Men-In-Blue’ team Virat Kolhi during net practice session at Wankhede stadium ground ahead of New Zealand series at home.

Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, yesterday joined the Indian cricket team during their net session, ahead of the first New Zealand ODI in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

Arjun was seen bowling to Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli and other batsmen in the nets.

The official Twitter account of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also posted the pictures of 17-year-old Arjun bowling to the players.

“We are at the Wankhede Stadium and our preparations for the #INDvNZ have begun,” BCCI tweeted.

Last month, Arjun was selected in Mumbai’s Under-19 squad for JY Lele All India Under-19 Invitational One Day Tournament, which was held in Baroda.

The 17-year-old has previously been part of the Mumbai Under-14 and Under-16 teams.

Contrary to his father Sachin, Arjun is a left-handed all-rounder, who is more known for bowling seam ups.

Sunil Gavaskar gives his opinion of GT allrounder Rahul Tewatia

The left-handed batsman from Haryana is garnering praise from all quarters for the way he’s finishing games regularly in the most exciting IPL season.

Gavaskar reckons Tewatia’s whirlwind knock in Sharjah (in IPL 2020) where he smashed West Indies pacer Sheldon Cottrell for five sixes in an over, gave him the confidence that he belongs to the big stage.

Speaking on Cricket Live on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “That assault on Sheldon Cottrell in Sharjah gave him the belief to do the impossible and the confidence that he belongs here. We saw the impossible (he did with the bat) the other day as well. There’s no twitching or touching the pads (which shows a batter’s nervousness) when he bats in the death overs. He just waits for the ball to be delivered and plays his shots. He’s got all the shots in the book, but most importantly his temperament to stay cool in a crisis is brilliant.”

Gavaskar has also nicknamed the 28-year-old cricketer the ‘ice-man’ and lauded Tewatia’s ability to remain unruffled during the tense moments.
